About Fun with Folk

Fun with Folk is:

  • An online songbook of English Folk Songs and Singing Games
  • Designed for children 7 – 11 yrs
  • For children to use at home
  • A classroom resource for teachers

Fun with Folk is operated by the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) as an on-line educational resource.  It is part of the EFDSS Education Programme.

The EFDSS is the primary organisation for English folk music, dance and song.  Its resources include the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library which houses a major collection of folk song, music, dance and drama.

Fun with Folk has been developed as part of Take 6, a project to make the folk archives of the English Folk Dance and Song Society more easily accessible to the public. Six important folk song collections are now available on-line, for anyone to research.  Take 6 Archives
